3D Printer & Model Continued

Once my printer was calibrated and did some good test prints I modeled a necklace piece from the tv show Voltron. I modeled it in Thingiverse by combining half circles and paraboloids to make the helmet base, then used a bunch of wedges and boxes as holes to hollow out the visor. To make the object able to have a necklace string through it I then used a torus to hollow out a hole near the top.

After I finished modeling I then used a 3D slicer to convert it from an stl to gcode and printed it.

Finally after it printed and I got it off the bed I sanded the piece smooth to remove the layer lines and the sides of the shapes, then painted it in silver with a silver and black in the middle of the visor.
